"...the Technology Section Council has been working to collect resources through the Effective Technology Practices initiative. As part of that effort, we will be "hosting" a monthly topic for the list as a way to identify new resources, and ideally create a conversation on the issue of interest. A different volunteer will facilitate each month, and watch for resources that we can then post to the website.
Through the list we will also solicit ideas for the following month's topic. In particular we are trying to focus on areas where the community may have tangible resources that would be of value to other association staff and partners. Examples could include sample policies or procedures, job descriptions, work plans, or other instruments[...]"
This is a great example of how to cross-fertilize ideas, and specifically of using tried and tested modes of communication (the listserves) to create value for new ones (the wiki), AND showing the value of the wiki to a wider audience through adding templates and resources. We should always be on the lookout for ways to organically communicate between areas and departments. I dig it!
