but we want to know what you think
Hope everyone had a great holiday break! I am very excited, tomorrow is my official last day at my old association. Dark side, here I come! Can.not.wait.

More than 18,000 people obviously think this is a good idea.
ReplyDeleteI think it's the opportunity to post questions that makes this attractive, though, not the likelihood that anybody will ever read them.
Are all these people naive, or do they just think it's great to be able to do this?
Only time will tell, however I don't think anyone is naive. I think there is now an expectation that if you are open for questions, you have an obligation to listen to them. While I don't think any individual will expect an individual response, I do think if there are enough people asking the same question and/or enough votes on particular questions, there will be an expectation of a response - and if there isn't, it's now easy to make voices heard.
ReplyDeleteWoo hoo--congrats on being able to just do one job now instead of two! I wish you guys much succcess!
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally, I just blogged about this same Change.org thing--I personally am optimistic about it--seems like they're doing a lot more than just giving people a chance to post questions on a discussion board. But then again, this is coming from the girl who didn't vote, so I can't say I'm a big believer in anything govt/politics. ;)
I suppose I should welcome all the optimists who have entered the public arena, instead of calling them naive (which many of them are).
ReplyDeleteI just hope they aren't disappointed. The world is not going to change overnight no matter who is elected or how passionate their supporters.
By the way, if you don't vote, you have no right to complain about anything.
